Welcome to Kirikiriroa Autistic Wildflowers (KAW)!
Kirikiriroa Autistic Wildflowers (KAW) is a space for Autistic women (trans or cis) and gender queer people who feel comfortable in an Autistic women’s space. Basically, if you’re not a cis-man, and you want to hang out with us, you are welcome! Our events are based in Kirikiriroa Hamilton, but you are welcome to attend from wherever you live.
We are a diverse group of quirky, awesome people, linked by our Autistic brains and experiences.
If you’re lonely, or feel misunderstood by the world, it can be so healing to meet your Autistic peers and finally feel seen and valued. I acknowledge it can feel really scary coming along the first time because many of us have had such terrible experiences over our lives and naturally feel fearful of new social situations, but I can promise you you’ll be warmly welcomed.
We meet up at least once a month for relaxed chats and quality company. We send out the monthly events info via email. If you’d like to be on the recipients list, please supply your email address to sarah@kaw.org.nz and I’ll add you. Any questions or if you want to meet up with one or two of us first so you know some friendly faces before you attend a group, just let me know :)
You do not need a diagnosis to attend, but you do need to be 18+ and not require ongoing supervisory care and support, as we are unable to provide free supervision and cannot have neurotypical support people in our space without it causing us to mask. The exception to this is if you benefit from support but want to join in, you can employ an Autistic person who meets the group criteria to help keep you safe.
If you would like to support our mahi, feel free to make a small donation to:
